The Young Researchers Award is a competition organized annually by the Faculty of Law and the RJUAM. The aim of the Award is to create a space in which students can take their first steps in research — from formulating working hypotheses, developing methodology, and conducting bibliographic and case law research to drawing conclusions from the analyzed material and presenting academic papers in forums open to the university community. Through this process, the Award seeks to promote public speaking skills among students of Law and Political Science, particularly in the development of academic discourse and, more broadly, in research techniques in these two scientific fields, beginning at the undergraduate level.

Strengthening these skills among students is part of the competences and knowledge that must be acquired within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the new degree programs.

The Award is held in three categories, covering the fields of Public Law, Private Law, and Political Science, and offers a modest monetary prize for the winners. Any undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral student from any Spanish or foreign university may participate, provided their work is supervised by a professor and/or researcher affiliated with a higher education institution. A single supervisor may endorse the submission of one or more papers.
