The Revista JurÃdica de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (RJUAM) was established in 1999 with the aim of fostering scientific discussion and promoting the study of Law and Political Science, thereby encouraging research and enhancing its dissemination. With twenty-five years of experience behind us and an Editorial Board composed of doctoral students and recent PhD graduates, we are both an established and young journal, seeking to provide a platform for outstanding researchers who, like us, are still in the early stages of their academic careers.
To this end, we annually organize a Young Researchers
Award and workshops on current topics. Starting this year, we also plan to hold
an international conference that will allow doctoral students and young PhD
graduates from around the world to present the results of their legal and
political science research.
We are therefore pleased to present the RJUAM’s I
Young Scholars Meeting, titled "Pop Culture Through Law and Political
Science," which will take place on April 24 and 25, 2025 at the Faculty of
Law of the Autonomous University of Madrid. This event will serve as a meeting
point for the new generation of researchers in these fields. The aim is to facilitate the dissemination of legal
and political science research by using widely recognized events as a catalyst,
whether these are real cases (for example, the issues surrounding tax crimes
through the case of the singer Shakira) or inspired by cinema, literature, or
art (for example, the problems related to the legal capacity of minors in the
case of Ariel from the movie The Little Mermaid).
To shape the event's program, we are opening a call for communications proposals through our online submission form, which will remain open until December 31, 2024. You can find the conference guidelines on our website or contact us with any questions at congreso.rjuam@hotmail.com.
