RJUAM’S 2nd YOUNG SCHOLARS MEETING

«From fiction to law: Pop Culture Against Law and Political Science»

Madrid, April 23 and 24, 2026

1.      CALL FOR PAPERS.–

RJUAM invites the submission of paper proposals for the RJUAM’s 2nd Young Scholars Meeting, titled "From fiction to law: Pop Culture Against Law and Political Science," which will take place in person on April 23 and 24, 2026 at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Madrid. Participants from other countries may also participate online.

Both participation in the conference and attendance are free of charge.

 

2.      TOPICS.–

The objective of the Meeting is to facilitate the dissemination of legal or political science research, using events generally known to the public as a starting point to facilitate their understanding. Consequently, the papers presented may address any legal or political science topic related to pop culture. Analyses of both real cases and fictitious scenarios, inspired by film, literature, or art are welcome.

 

3.      ELIGIBILITY.–

Those who, at the time of the call for communications, are enrolled in a doctoral program in Law, Political Science, or related disciplines at any Spanish or foreign university, as well as those who have defended their thesis within the past five years or who have not reached the category of Senior Lecturer (or equivalent), may submit a paper proposal.

Those who, at the time of the call for communication, are enrolled in an official Master's program in Law, Political Science, or related disciplines at any Spanish or foreign university, may also submit a paper proposal.

 

4.      SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND FORMAT.–

Participants must submit a brief abstract of their communications by January 15, 2026. Submissions must be made through the online form provided, either in Spanish or English (max. 500 words).

 

5.      SELECTION.–

The organization will select the best papers before February 15, 2026. The decision will be based on the scientific and educational value of the proposals, as well as their originality, rigor, and clarity of presentation.

Approved papers will be presented in person or remotely in thematic panels and will have a duration of approximately 10 minutes. A complete version in writing of the communication must be submitted before March 27, 2026 (circa 2,000 words).

 

6.      AWARD FOR BEST PRESENTATIONS.

On the occasion of the RJUAM’s 2nd Young Scholars Meeting, three prizes are announced for the following categories:

  • Political Science.
  • Private Law.
  • Public Law.

Prizes do not include a monetary award. All accepted and defended presentations during the 2nd RJUAM Young Researchers Meeting will be eligible for the award. The winners will be selected based on the scores proposed by the reviewers, and the decision will be final.

The results of the awards will be announced during the closing ceremony of the RJUAM 2nd Young Scholars Meeting.
